If there is a dessert that’s considered a national dessert of the Philippines, this is probably it.
It is very delicious, easy to do and quite versatile really.
My rule:
12 egg yolks, 1 can condensed milk, 1 can evaporated milk, 1 tbsp. vanilla.
If you worry about cholesterol, then use 6 eggs (including white).
Follow steps in the picture.
Because condensed milk is sweet enough, I don’t use sugar anymore, but if you want it sweeter, by all means, add a cup or half a cup of sugar.
Also, you can play around with the flavoring. For example, instead of vanilla, try mint (spearmint or peppermint) or lemon. You can also add a cup of mashed boiled kalabasa (pumpkin) and see how that works.
Hi!
The photo looks really yummy! When I make Leche Flan, I purposely “burn” the caramel. It like the combination of bitter and sweet.
Happy blogging!
